  • My advice: 1. If the bobbin wobbles in the bobbin case, use a felt bobbin spacer. 2. Important. Just use plastic rather than metal spools. 3. Make sure the threading is correct. Thread tension is critical and is managed in loops #3, #4, and #5. When threading, be sure to pull gently to ensure the thread is secure in the blind tensioner. Also, don’t forget to run the thread behind guide #6. 4. This may seem obvious, but be sure to lower the presser foot. Especially when setting up thicker fabrics/upholstery, it's easy to forget. If you forget, you'll soon learn that the underside of the bobbin side fabric will become stained. 5. Practice control with your feet. It launches from 0 to 60 in a split second. I'd like to find better control here, as fine control is challenging. 6. Use the correct size needle. The one that came with my machine is the 90/14, which works for a lot of things, but I recommend the 100 for thicker things like chihuahuas and small pets. Just kidding about that little pet crack. I gave this machine 5 stars just because of the price, and rightfully so. If the price was within the usual £100-£150 range I would give it 4 stars. It's not perfect because the foot controls are too sensitive. But it’s a well-made device that can handle heavy fabrics. It went through 6 layers of vinyl upholstery and plastic piping effortlessly. I do find that I get the best results when starting the needle manually on thicker, multi-layered fabrics.

  • My first game was "The Room - A Dark Matter". I was struck by the images and the feeling of being "there". It's a completely different experience than playing games on a computer monitor. If you've been thinking about trying VR, this is a great option instead of buying the latest version, which is much more expensive. Of course, make sure there's a game for you. Fun awaits you.
